Day 14 of the tour was another cracker. We started with a lengthy breakfast then our traditional easy run of a little autostrada and then a long run down an amazing valley. Lots of small Swiss hamlets stitched to the valley walls. Ancient fortresses looming over us as we wound our way towards the Furkapass. The weather was cool and very overcast, not ideal for photography I am afraid and as we began to climb the Furka there was a little drizzle and a damp road. If you have not been here, this is one of the most amazing pieces of road anywhere. Fast flowing corners, some tighter sections, a smooth surface and spectacular scenery. We stopped at the top for coffee and pastries before heading down the other side and our next pass for the day the Oberalpass, another 2000 metre summit. We took another long valley to the town of Flims where we enjoyed a relaxed lunch before tackling the glorious Julierpass on the way to St Moritz. This has to be the best pass noone has ever heard of. A truly great drive.
St Moritz was a welcome sight as were a few pre-dinner drinks and a relatively early night.
Tomorrow is a rest day in St Moritz and if the weather does the right thing we might enjoy the scenery around town.
