Snowy/South Coast Tour
April 13, 2122
This tour gives us the opportunity to explore some wonderful roads a bit further away from the city than we manage with other tours. This tour takes us along the western slopes and the Murray Valley to the Western edge of the Snowy Mountains, through the dense forests before climbing towards the high plains of the Snowy Mountains then down the coastal escarpment to the far south coast of New South Wales and some of the most picturesque places on the coast. The final day cruises the NSW south coast and southern highlands as we head back to Sydney
Day 1
We kick off the tour from Jugiong, just of the Highway between Yass and Gundagai. travel into Victoria and beautiful Murray Valley before turning into the western slopes of the Snowy Mountains. We experience everything from rich farmland, dense forests, alpine meadows and the high peaks of the Snowies before heading into our hotel on the shores of Lake Jindabyne.
Day 2
The day kicks off with a run up to Charlotte Pass and the highest sealed road in the country. We return to Jindabyne for a coffee before taking on a brilliant, empty road through the high plains before arriving in Bombala. The country changes dramatically here, the plains make way for heavy forest as we head towards the escarpment that eventually drops to the coast. We take in the beautiful Bega Valley and some of the iconic sights of the Far South Coast. Our accommodation tonight is in new luxury apartments with stunning views of Bass Straight.
Day 3
The South Coast in all its glory is on display today. Some great places to stop for a coffee or a pie at a local bakery before heading back to the highway for the run back to Sydney.
