The Golden West Tour

This tour is a new variation of our popular Tablelands Tour, taking in much of what made the Tablelands so much fun but with improved accommodation and dining option. Bring your better half, your favourite car and have a great time.
The Central West of NSW has so much going for it. Close to Sydney, wonderful scenery, some great hotels and restaurants, award winning wineries and a series of amazing roads that cry out to be driven, so it was a no brainer to put together a tour that celebrates the best that the region has to offer.
Day 1. Cowan – Bathurst – 468 Km
We kick the tour off from Cowan on the northern outskirts of Sydney before heading towards the Hunter Valley. There is time for a coffee stop before we hit the top of the Hunter and lunch at Jerry’s Plains. There is then a lovely back road into the stunning Bylong Valley, rich farmland and beautiful sandstone outcrops will keep you entertained. Climbing out of the valley we take a series of fun back roads to Bathurst and the Rydges Hotel right on the Mt Panorama Circuit.
Day 2. Bathurst – Goulburn – 305 Km
There is time to have a good look around the race circuit before we take a loop west of Bathurst using some little used farm roads. Lunch will be at an old favourite, Mayfield Gardens. The afternoon route is just a great drive, heading through Black Springs we take a spectacular road to Taralga where we will have a break to reset at the pub before heading into Goulburn for the night.
Day 3. Goulburn – Portland – 331 Km
Our day starts with a short freeway run as we wind our way to Crookwell for our coffee stop. We then take in one of the great drives as we head north through Tuena, Rockley and back to Black Springs before we head for lunch at the Tarana Hotel. After lunch there is a short run into what looks like a throwback to the ‘50’s, the town of Portland. We split here with everyone taking the most convenient run home across the mountains.
