Well that was a couple of action packed days. We left Stavelot and the Spa circuit and had a great drive on some stunning back roads through the countryside of Belgium and Germany. Arrived in Nurburg in plenty of time to unpack and prepare for our session on the Nurburgring. Ian and Dave opted for a couple of Renault Megane Cup Cars, Phil took the M3 and I had the trusty RCZ. As our start time drew near so did the clouds and some misty rain. Great for the nerves going onto the daunting 20km circuit. Start time arrived and all hell broke loose everyone tried to be 1st on the circuit before the rain hit. We all stayed back a bit to avoid the worst of the traffic and then set off. All I can say is that it is everything you have ever heard. Exciting, scary, daunting, magnificent and soooo much fun. A definite for the bucket list.
Dinner was at the Pistenklause, a legendary bar/restaurant in thhe heart of Nurburg, the food was good and cheap and the walls and ceilings are covered in souvenirs from thousands of race weekends. The only place to go, if you are in town.
Day 3 and the rain had cleared, we had a relaxed start to the day before hitting the Autobahn to Stuttgart and the Porsche Museum. Hard to tell just how well this is done. The building itself is beautiful and the ever changing exhibits are brilliant. Best of all we are back there tonight for a special birthday dinner. Ferry Porsche would be 104 today!!
