We had a pretty cruisey day leaving Portofino, lots of time to look around town then an easy run through the tunnels into Cannes. We are staying at The Grand, right on the beach and another of those iconic european hotels. Dinner last night was a brilliant restaurant run by a husband and wife not far from the hotel, brilliant.
Today we headed back to Monaco at the Cols in the mountains behind the Principality. First up was the Col de Castillion to Sospel then the infamous Col de Turini. Great fun on an early autum day but scary to think that the WRC cars run this in the snow and ice of January.
As a special treat we managed to organise tickets for all to the Monaco Boat Show so after the Cols we headed into Monaco and rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous at the most amazing boat show on earth.
As I write this we have just returned from dinner in the lane-ways of old Cannes. Another stunning meal and a great way to wind up a fun couple of days.
